Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp Heli Trek is a short duration package that offers the experience of trekking to the beautiful Annapurna range and the luxurious helicopter ride across the stunning scenery of the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Base Camp Heli Trek is perfect for people with a relatively shorter amount of time to spend trekking. The journey begins with a scenic flight to the lake-side city of Pokhara. Then, you would be trekking across some of the most beautiful landscapes found on the planet. Annapurna region is considered to be one of the most naturally beautiful and florally rich regions in Nepal. Similarly, the Annapurna region is blessed with the radiation of the Annapurna Himalayas enriched brilliantly with the region’s astounding mountain terrain. In the short period, the journey pleasantly captures all of the major attractions of the region to give you an experience that you will never forget. 

Trek on gorgeous rhododendron trails through celebrated villages like Ghorepani and visit the most renowned vantage point of the region- Poon Hill, from where you can get superb panoramic views of the entire Annapurna Mountain range. We will be trekking across one of the most wonderful trekking trails bounded by forests, mountains, and diverse landscapes. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Annapurna peaks and Mt. Machhapuchhre throughout the trek. Conquer the notorious steep steps to reach Ulleri, delight in the trek along the rhododendron forests on the way to Ghorepani and enjoy the splendid panoramic view of the Annapurna mountain range, Dhaulagiri peaks, and Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail) among many other peaks from Poon Hill, one of the best vantage points in the region. Hike past the waterfalls and swimming holes in Tikhe Dhunga and enjoy the Magar and Gurung settlements along the way to the Annapurna Base Camp. Experience the breathtaking view of a wide span of snow and boulders with the intense presence of the Annapurna Mountains.

Finally, enjoy the final part of the journey with an incredibly thrilling helicopter ride back to Pokhara. Be at parallel with the mountain peaks and adore the diverse landscape below. Itinerary Show all

Day One:

Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport, our airport representative will welcome you and transfer you to the respective hotel. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled for the very day at the hotel in the evening. However, our airport representative will provide you brief information about your further trip on your way to the hotel. After checking in your hotel, you can simply relax or roam around the streets of Thamel. In the evening, we will hold a welcome dinner for you where you will enjoy authentic Nepali meal. We will also introduce you to your guide for the trip. Do not hesitate to ask questions about your trip and your preference throughout the trip.

Day Two:

Fly to Pokhara then trek to Tike Dhunga (1495m)

On this day, you will be taking an early morning flight to Pokhara. The lakeside city of Pokhara is an astonishing tourist-hub of the country and is called the tourism capital and the adventure-center of Nepal. Lots of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna can be viewed from the city. The tranquil Phewa Lake is the major attraction of the city. Similarly, on a clear day, you will get the reflection of the Macchapuchhre Himal on the surface of the Lake. Activities like boating and fishing can also be done in Phewa Lake. After our arrival at Pokhara, we will meet our team and then drive to Nayapul which is on the distance of forty-two kilometers from Pokhara. From Nayapul, we will walk for about twenty minutes to reach Birethanti. Through the main street of Birethanti, we will go through forests of bamboos and past a large waterfall and a swimming hole. Passing through the pasturelands, mostly used for horse caravans, we will arrive at the village of Ramghai where we will stop for lunch. after lunch, we will pass over the Modi Khola through a suspension bridge to the village of Tike Dhunga where we will spend the night. As today is the first day of the trek, we will be walking for only about five hours.

Day Three:

Trek to Ghorepani (2850m)

From Tike Dhunga, we will pass over a stream via a suspension bridge near the campsite and then climb up to the steep stone staircase of the Magar village of Ulleri. The stone staircase is said to have about 3300 steps and the hike through the staircase is quite wonderful. Ulleri lies at an altitude of 2080 meters. Above the village of Ulleri, we will pass over the pasturelands and stunning cultivated fields of mustard and rice. Then, after a walk for about an hour, we will reach a campsite for rest. The trail from the campsite continues across two small rivers before ultimately elevating to Nangethanti where we will stop for lunch. The trail to the village is usually covered in snow, during the winter season. From Nangethanti, we will ascend to Ghorepani situated at an altitude of 2850 meters. Ghorepani is famous for the stunning panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m) that we can see from here. 

Day Four:

Hike to PoonHill (3210m) and then trek to Tadapani (2500m)

We will start our trek to Poonhill from the early morning. Poonhill is a famed vantage point around this region, renowned for its incredible sight of the whole Annapurna mountain range. This is the ideal place from where we can watch the beautiful occurrence of the alternating colors of the mountain as the rays of the sun sweep across their surface. It is a marvelous sight to see. Views of many mountain peaks such as Mt. Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna South, the Fishtail Mountain and many more can be observed from this point. Adoring the view from Poonhill, we will return to Ghorepani, have a delicious breakfast and trek towards Tadapani. On our way to Tadapani, we will pass through stunning rhododendron forest, cross over marvelous waterfalls. Our trip today will take about six hours. 

Day Five:

Tadapani to Sinuwa(2310m)

Today, we will move through a route to the village of Sinuwa. From Tadapani, we will make our way through the dense and dark forest with a tough climb in the steep trail. On the way, the Gurjung trail offers a beautiful view of the upper Modi valley. Further, we will move down to the village of Chuile passing over to the Kimrong Khola. The path then climbs up to the west shore of the Modi Khola and then passes through the village of Chhomrong. Chhomrong villages are situated at a wonderful location at the foot of grandiose Annapurna massive. Upon arrival at Chhomrong, we will come across the majestic peak of Annapurna South, the Fishtail Mountain facing across the valley. after leaving Chhomrong along the Modi Khola, we will reach the settlements in the foothill of the high step and wooded slopes of Himalayas. Carrying on the trail alongside the Chhomrong Khola, we will then ascend gradually up to Sinuwa. The trip from Tadapani to Sinuwa might take up to six hours.

Day Six:

Sinuwa to Deurali (3150m)

The climb from Sinuwa becomes quite comfortable as the climb is a bit flatter. The trail moves through thick and dark fragrant rhododendron forest up to Kuldi Ghar. We will be walking for about two to three hours to reach Kuldi Ghar. The trail passes steeply down a bank of rocks and then levels out, passing through woods of bamboo at the foot of the valley. The initial part of the climb is quite easy. We will also pass over a couple of streams over small bridges. The trail keeps to the west side of the river. then, we will move through the pasturelands of Tomo and walk along the very neck of the gorge at Barah, where there are a small trail and a shrine. The trail passes through solitary. Nature’s wilderness and solitariness make the environment quite serene. The path from here ascends to the Himalayas. Eventually, we will reach Deurali where we will be spending the night. 

Day Seven:

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4210m) through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp

This is the most anticipated day of the trek. Today, we will start our trek to Annapurna Base Camp via Macchapuchhre Base Camp. Initially, the trail ascends easily through a river bed and then it rises sharply over the mountainside. The trail contains a few of the avalanche-prone areas. After the walk of half an hour from Deuralim, we will reach in the middle of the river bed bounded by huge snow-covered peaks. The sun rays make the mountain’s snow shine and the river valley warm. The climb to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp is a bit challenging, however, the unfolding sights of the grandeur Machhapuchhre are worth the climb. The vegetation disappears on the way to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. There will be many snow boulders melting to form small streams along the way. As we enter the Sanctuary, the path broadens a bit, following a stream we will climb to a few huts alongside a moraine. Upon arriving at Annapurna Base Camp, we will get mesmerizing views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna standing above the sanctuary. Annapurna Base Camp is quite famous for the panoramic 360-degree view free of obstruction. Annapurna Base Camp will reward us with the heartwarming view of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Himal Chuli and many other peaks for our effort. We will be trekking for approximately five hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp.

Day Eight:

Helicopter ride to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu

Another most anticipated day of the trek, the glamorous helicopter rides from Annapurna base camp. Today, you will experience one of the most incredible helicopter rides from the lap of the gigantic Annapurna back to Pokhara early in the morning. The aerial views of the mountain peaks from the helicopter are very thrilling and exciting. Looking below, you will observe the huge change in the terrain as the snowy lands of the high mountains get altered with the green hills, terrace farmlands, and forests. We might also see the herds of goats running below. When seen from a bird’s eye perspective, the Annapurna region seems bewitching. The panoramic view of the entire ground presents itself as a charming photograph. Finally, we will land at Pokhara. From Pokhara, we will then take an afternoon flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day Nine:

Trip Concludes

This is the day we will bid you goodbye. Our airport representative will transfer you to the Tribhuwan International Airport before three hours of your scheduled flight.
