How to get from Bali to Gili Trawangan?

Daily, fast boats depart from Bali to the Gili islands. If you choose to embark from Bali, you have to catch the boat from Padang Bay. It is best to stay overnight in Kuta and get a taxi to the pier early in the morning.

The Gili Islands are very close to each other, so you can visit all of them easily. There are two ways to reach the islands. You can either take a public boat from Gili Trawangan that leaves around 9;30am; it costs between 20-30k Rupiah; beware, ticket sellers might try to charge you more. Or, you can get a private boat which many costs about Rp200k in one way. We recommend you to take this only if you are in a group. And the islands are very close that it is not worth getting a private boat. You can also head to mainland Lombok where you can see beautiful beaches, temples and get unique local experiences.
