Best Time to Visit

How to get to Dalat

The most convenient and fastest way to get in or out of Dalat is via the airport. You can book a flight to and from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City for around 20-30 USD. To get from the airport to the hotel, you can get a taxi at the airport. Some hotels in Dalat also offers free airport pickup and drop off. You can also get a shuttle bus service from the airport to the city center for only around 2USD.

Buses are also quite popular transportation option to get in or out of Dalat from other cities. These buses have AC, WiFi, and sleeper chairs. You can get direct routes to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Hue, etc. the most popular route is the none from Nha Trang, the gorgeous beach city. This route will cost around 15USD.

Getting around Dalat

The major transportation that most tourists use while in Dalat is the motorbike. You can rent bikes from your hotel as most of them have rental service, or you can also get one at rental centers. You can get a motorbike for about 80-150k per day.

If you like to explore the city with a bit more comfort, you can also rent a car. The car rentals cost around one million per day. Also, many taxi companies offer this service with driver. You can inform your hotel and book this service.

Xuan Huong Lake

Xuan Huong Lake is one of the most beautiful attractions in Da Lat. It lies in the prime location of the city and has a romantic scenery. This crescent moon shaped lake is the best attraction of Dalat. The lake stretches approximately 2km through other major attractions of Dalat, like the beautiful pine forests, Yersin Park, Lam Vien Square. The former name of the lake is Grand Lac, and the present name came since 1953. Here, you can just enjoy a glass of cocktail while enjoying the gorgeous lake view, or hop on a swan boat and ride on this serene lake. You can also roam around the lake, taking in the beautiful scenery, and as the night falls, the sparkling light around.

Dalat Cathedral

Dalat Cathedral, also known as the chicken church, is the most attractive architecture of Dalat city. This structure characterizing the Roman architectural style is also quite popular among tourists. The cathedral came to be known as a chicken church due to a huge statue of chicken on top of the bell tower. This church is not only a sacred place for praying, but is also the largest church in Dalat and features the stunning European architectural style, also considered one of the most renowned ancient architectural works that French left in the city.

Pren waterfall - Datanla waterfall

Pren waterfall - Datanla waterfall is also one of the major tourist destinations in Dalat. They are also one of the most accessible waterfalls in Dalat due to its location being at the Prenn Pass and on the way to Dalat city center. Nowadays, numerous restaurants and cafes surround these gorgeous waterfalls. Among the ten waterfalls in Dalat, these two waterfalls are the most beautiful and the most accessible, and also has developed pretty well.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda

Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a gorgeous Buddhist shrine, renowned for its unique, beautiful mosaics surface. This pagoda is also famous as the pagoda of broken glass, thanks to its structures, which are all inlaid with thousands of broken terracotta, porcelain, and glass. This gorgeous temple complex has many large altars, a massive tower, and many other features that make it worth visiting. The pagoda lies about eight kilometers from the Dalat city center. You can take a motorbike or taxi to the pagoda. Or, you can also take the quaint train from the Old Railway Station in Dalat. Here, you can see the massive dragon sculpture made from over 12,000 beer bottles. Also, you can visit Quan Am hall, Da Bao Tower, see the largest bell of Vietnam, visit Sakyamuni Buddha temple, flower Buddha made from 650,000 dried flowers, and also visit the wax museum and haunted house. 

Tuyen Lam Lake

Tuyen Lam Lake, the largest freshwater lake of Dalat Vietnam, is located seven kilometers from the Dalat city center. This lake is a perfect place to escape from the crowds of the city area and enjoy the serene atmosphere with nature. Visiting Tuyen Lam Lake is a great way to temporarily forget the worries and enjoy the time as it passes by. Here, you can take a boat and sail around the river, enjoying the sight. You can also visit the largest monastery in Lam Dong, Truc Lam Meditation Center. Likewise, you can visit a happy hill, clay tunnel, lavender field. There are also a few resorts and spas around the lake where you can stay and also enjoy time pampering yourself.
